Director's Note

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to STAREBS (School for Training and Analytical Research in Economics, Business and Society).

STAREBS has been conceived as a platform where learning is extended beyond the conventional boundaries of classrooms and disciplines. In a rapidly changing academic and professional environment, students need not only sound conceptual foundations but also exposure to data, technology, research methods and emerging areas of knowledge. Through our courses, internships, research initiatives, Digital Humanities programmes, seminars and conferences, opportunities are created for students to explore these dimensions in an intellectually stimulating environment.

Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary learning. Students from Economics, Business, Social Sciences and Humanities are encouraged to engage with contemporary analytical tools and research methods. The participation and achievements of students from diverse disciplines in our programmes have demonstrated that curiosity, creativity and the willingness to learn can transcend disciplinary boundaries.

STAREBS seeks to nurture young minds who are capable of thinking independently, asking meaningful questions, working with evidence and approaching problems creatively. It is hoped that the learning and experiences gained through STAREBS will contribute not only to academic and professional development but also to the formation of thoughtful and responsible individuals.

β€œIt is all about being innovative, original, and different β€” attributes that make them potential leaders in their profession.”
